The sniper robot from the large animation i am working on called "Unit 042: Collection"
His face is based on a US power plug. When he plugs it in, he can see through his gun's scope. without the plug though, he sees through the small camera on the side of his head.
I love the design, and can't wait to start working him into the scene with him in the animation itself, but for now i have another robot variant to finish first.
One of the hardest parts of this project, was making his textures. As my substance painter license expired while i was working on him and on Unit 042 himself, I have been making all of their textures in blender, and then baking them out, which is a very painful process. However I really like the final look. I'll be doing the other guard variants this way too, just to keep the aesthetic the same between the three robots, even though i now have a new Substance Painter license.
